Uh oh! I feel my NaNoWriMo story bogging down. I guess something drastic needs to happen. I did have a big WHAM event planned, but I thought it needed to come later. I would still like to save it, so I better come up with something else.
What just happened is that our hero just got talked out of being the hero. Since he is a man of reason, this makes sense. In order for him to become a man of action, something is going to have to push him harder than what has happened so far. And maybe that is what this novel is about: discovering what it takes to make a reasonable man start behaving unreasonably.
