This morning I realized that what I was missing was the bad guy. Without him, there was no context for the crime. For the moment he's pretty much the stereotypical, slick, corporate type bad guy with millions (billions?) of dollars and plenty of minions. I'm not sure what kind if illicit activity he's involved in. But I know there's at least one dead body. It just hasn't shown up yet.
It took a couple of hours to squeeze out 1000 words. That's not keeping up with the NaNoWriMo pace. But I'm hoping that as the plot starts to gel a bit more, the scenes will write themselves (they have so far).
